Not an engine expert but surely if it is the little ends either new piston and con rod or even new con rods will be available as these engines are used in loads of vehicles so for me to say it's a new engine I would be after a second opinion from an engine specialist particularly a BMW one before I spent any more money .

Cheers Guys Im going to go to a engine rebuilder for his opinion Im not keen on another emgine from a scrapers as I know this one has done 123k with new cam kit new injectors water pump Turbo etc just worried I spend 1400 quid on and engine that may have done in reality 170k then have to go through this same process in 12 months time. Im in no rush to get her back on the road as I have been without it for almost 10 months now will let you know what the specialist says later this week if I get the time to bob it round cheers again.

Only to get back what I lent you....reminds me, I had a sheer black number, cut just above the knee, open back, strapless.....also a pair of size 12 thigh high 9" heel boots.....have you still got them, or did I lend them to TomcatAlan, Wammers or Datatek?? :D:D

I'm so glad I have finished eating dinner....

:D:D

Wammers has your peek a boo bra and butt plug, Keith has your open crotch panties and I have your little black number which I'm afraid I will have to get dry cleaned, and your thigh boots which I find a bit tight. I will return the items when you return my Marcel Marceau skin tight suite and long blond wig.:D:D

Well, there is a bit of a confession there, you know how awkward it can be in those heels, especially when you've had a few babychams, well it was my girlfriends turn to drive the rangey, and wear the trousers, and on the way back from the local dogging layby the bastard L322 decides to drop a CV joint. So there i am in full rig at the side of the road trying to lever the thing back in just to get us home and well a very long story, still quite long, your dress and boots are fecked but i managed to save your curly blonde wig.............sorry, Evans vouchers are in the post along with your Ahh bra and wig ;)

True dat !

unless you know or can verify the engine you're putting in it's a crap-shoot.

Getting another block and swapping them over, just to find out in a few months that the replacement engine is weak or failing will not be a happy time, if you're in no rush then you're better off getting it rebuilt, or pulling it and DIY-ing.

If you're going to drop in a replacement block, you'd want to give it a run through to make sure what your putting in isn't wasted effort and cost, and if your going to give a replacement engine a run through, you may as well do it with your own block.

It's all swings and roundabouts !

[as for the thread driffent on the cross dressing... i'm scarred now.. scarred i tell you.... scarred !]

I think we need to establish whether you are scarred or scared or even scared of being scarred, and if you are scarred who did it and where is it?? Maybe the boots were too tight...

You don't get this on the other forums, maybe we should start a Tranny page, for everything that isn't transmission related ;)
I am not sure if this has gone slightly off topic

I completely agree, other forums are far too stiff, oh no , here we go again.

I couldn't have survived the last 18 months of RR ownership without this forum, even if it's a totally random problem, it's good just to to share the problem and get a bit of counselling.
