make sure that the outside handle has returned all the way out. You may have to use a screw driver up the side of the handle to move it all the way out. the door should then open. use loads of WD40 on it to make sure it does not do it again. (had the same problem with mine)

had the same thing on mine. though mine was hard to start as well. new coil, plug leads and a set of plugs later everything is fine. remember to close the plug gap up a little.

check out your warning light relay (under the pass, side dash) it was U/S on my 95 300 tdi and my light would not go out. replaced it after many hours fault finding the system and replacing a wheel sensor (very expensive) now working fine. Sam

just carried out checks as Disco es sent worked a treat thanks very much was the left front sensor. the diagnostic plug on my disc (early 300) was a small blue 5 pin plug next to fuses under steering wheel.

you will need a touque wrench of the bending bar type (sorry can't remember the proper name) to set up the tension.
