thanks for your help chaps ,if I put the gear lever in neutral and rev the engine to 2000 to 2500 no noise,and yes I can confirm the fuse was put in number 11 fuse holder and transfer neutral came up on the dash display. Regards Ed

Hi transfer neutral was selected before being towed. don't know weather its my imagination or not but the autobox seems late changing ie 2000 to 2300 rpm Regards Ed

irrespective of the direction of driving the point is the noise only occurs when the car is being driven. Already checked turbo hoses. I can rev the engine while stationary and no sign of noise. beginning to think it may be autobox or transfer box.

Hi after a catalogue of disasters with my 1997 p38 2.5 dse first fuel pump failure then overheating and had to be towed 45 miles back home replaced thermostat radiator and viscose fan overheating cured but left with screeching noise when engine revved replaced turbo and this cured that problem...

Unable to access becm with faultmate as reading on laptop screen says becm in alarmed state use disarm & try again. Disarm feature not being read by becm so unable to access settings/information screen Regards Ed

Hi Rick Yes about 18 months ago I disabled the passive imobilizer with my fault mate. Will try what you suggested let you know. Many thanks Just tryed your method and after several attempts just got key code lockout on display
