    Sankey for sale

Due to lack of recent use I am selling my sankey 3/4 ton wide track. I have had it for some years and hammerited the chassis and tub when I first go it. Also used a grip type paint for the inside of the tub about the same time. It has been converted to work on 12v. I am looking for £550 for it...

1965 Series 2a Station Wagon in Holland

Enjoying your thread. Good to see someone taking the time to repair what a lot would have probably given up on. As a thought, if your courier doesn't like knocking because of your dog, how about a wheely style bin outside your door chained up with a padlock? They could then leave the parcel in...

crazy electrical stuff going on Defender 300tdi

Had the radio and light problem and that was down to the engine earth. Previous owner had failed to bolt the battery lead to the transfer box and put another engine to body earth in. This needed cleaning. As for the rest, tend to go with the earth in the rear door. The only other problem that I...

    Alternator advice

stick a new/replacement unit on. Can be a pig to replace diode pack, plus you still have to find them for sale. A replacement unit should give you a warranty and possibly peace of mind knowing the unit has been proprly check/repaired.

    Fuel PRICE RISE

Thing to do would be to boycott one company a week nationally. They have very little storage capacity for the fuel so they would have to pay for it. When the cost hit home then they will really start lobbying the government. That's what happend with shell when they wanted to create a reef with...

    Tragic

Valid point. It is societies fault, if we beat the crap out of these scum they wouldn't do it again and toe the line of the real workers. Kill repeat offenders and we might solve the unemployment issue too.

"Not your usual" question about LPG...

I think you may find that it is something to do with the energy you can get from the fuel itself. Might be calorific value or something similar.

Probably correct there although I was told that once you fix an A frame it becomes a trailer? So then would that mean the sorn vehicle could be towned?

    Engine flush.

Used the stuff for cleaning out the sludge in a central heating system. Seemed to do the trick well enough.

    indicator fault not the norm

May help, a mate who has a 90 had similar problem. Got through a few hazard switches, blown fuses etc; Eventually traced the fault to the loom as it went over the n/s inner wing area (I think by the heater motor). Apparently the gromment had disintergrated allowing the wiring to chaff through...

Is a V8 on LPG really as 'economical' as a diesel?

I have never tried all antifreeze but I was always told that too much will have the adverse effect aparently and reduce the cooling effect? Never had it proven but I tried water wetter. I know how this sounds and I'm not taking the mick but SC's in Crawley sell it and it is supposed to break...

Is a V8 on LPG really as 'economical' as a diesel?

I believe from memory that the price of LPG has been given a lower tax to keep its price low and encourage alternative fuels. This ends in 2012. However, I'm sure that I have read this on the BBC but I can't find it. I hope I'm wrong but with a growing number of motorists using it it is only a...

Is a V8 on LPG really as 'economical' as a diesel?

A bit has been said about cost savings, don't forget that tax relief on LPG is due to expire in 2012 as set up by Gordon Brown. An alternative may be a diesel/lpg conversion? Keep the motor you have (if you have it yet) although I did read about some issues with some vehicles not running...
