    TD5 Auto rattle.....

Did you ever solve this? My new TD5 has the same rattle (sounds just like a heat shield rattling) from inside the vehicle at 2500RPM. Would be interested if you ever got to the bottom of it before I start taking things to bits :D Cheers

    On no! Diesel in Oil!

Sorry to hear about that! What a faff! Yeah the D2s do certainly have their fair share of problems but in my mind it's "better the devel you know" as now at least I'm familiar with them all - hence why I went for another D2 whilst there are still nice ones about, rather than a D3 which is going...

    On no! Diesel in Oil!

 Got myself a lovely new (to me) '03 TD5 Disco a few weeks back from a garage (not LR dealer). Love the car to bits, much nicer than my old Y plate and with more toys. Went to check the oil level this weekend and it seemed very runny and weird, with the blacker oil where the level should...

    TD 5 misfire

My TD5 misfired only when well warm, cause was a faulty injector. Diagnostics will show open circuit fault on the appropriate injector if it is a fault. Quite common for injector faults to show only when engine warm. My fault would clear every time from a cold start until the engine got warm...

    Intermittent starter motor on TD5

Right, just replaced the plunger and ONE of the contacts from the £10 eBay kit... Have started it 4 times now and it starts first time.... Replaced the parts in situ as recommended by Adsybear due to the faff of getting the starter out. Plunger and bottom contact were relatively easy - 30 mins...

    Intermittent starter motor on TD5

Just found and bought the eBay kit to replace the solenoid bits. Will give that a go! Not looking forward to getting the starter out though :(

    Intermittent starter motor on TD5

Mine's started doing this more and mre frequently now - turn the ignition to start and just a click. After a few times it turns over. I noticed though that you can't hear the fuel pump priming when it won't start. When you hear the fuel pump spin you know it's going to work on the next go. So...

Any Amatuers got radios in the landy

Hi there - No, it's not powered by the ciggy socket - that is just a power cord for something else. It's wired directly to the battery to reduce interference. Call is M3IYL 73 James

    td5 cylinder out/misfire

Yes, check your ECU harness for oil in the first instance. www.discovery2.co.uk / Workshop /Injector Harness I replaced mine as a matter of course when my injector no.1 failed recently. (And obviously replaced the incector too!) Failed injector will show up as an open circuit fault on the...

Any Amatuers got radios in the landy

I have a Yaesu dual-bander mounted in the centre console (removable face plate) and a CB also - but that's only put in the car when required for off roading. I have a dual band 1/4 wave antenna on a roof rail mount for the Yaesu, and a large removable whip on a custom grille mount for the CB...

    Watts Linkage

As far as I know you need a great big press to get the old bushes out and the new ones in. Something you're not likely to have at home? But I could be wrong - not sure if anyone can onfirm that you need a press for the Watts Linkage in particular?

    td5 missing,open circuit No5 ??

Interesting - Mine was 100% guaranteed to occur 10-13mins into a journey, when at a certain temp, which is why it was the injector. If it had been like how yours described, I definately would have just tried the loom first. Well, both are replaced now so that should cover that one! Belt and...

    Watts Linkage

This might not be a massive help but I recently enquired about a set of bushes change and I'm sure the watt's linkage ones were on there along with the radius arms, shock mounts, etc etc... The best way to ensure you're not squashed by the air suspension lowering is to jack the car up on the...

    td5 missing,open circuit No5 ??

Simon, Glad to hear you're back to full health(!) Couple of questions, out of interest: - Was your misfire when engine cold, when warm only, or always? - Did you have oil visible at the ECU end (red plug going onto the ECU by the battery)? James

    Quick Split Charge Question

After suffering a flat battery at the weekend due to camping-induced over-use of it, I am interested in fitting a 2nd battery (deep cycle) and split charger to run my various gubbins off whilst protecting the charge of my starter battery. My question is, I want the deep cycle battery to...

    AT2's noisy?

I would say EXACTLY the same about all three points for my Colway ATs and I think they have a pretty identical pattern to the AT2s James

Oh no! TD5 Misfire on one cylinder!

Hi there.. will try and summarise this saga as briefly as possible Vehicle misfiring continuously but only on one cylinder, never when cold, and only when up to full operating temperature (about 10-13miles) Slightly oily loom at engine end, but no oil at red ECU plug end Open Circuit...
