Disco 2 Potential rear ace pipe repair.

Just looked this up, yes 5 - 135 bar. Probably reach this cornering 90 degrees at 80mph. 135 bar about 2000 psi, cross section of pipe about .30 sq in so pressure on pipe area around 600 psi,or 40 bar a bit over plumbing parts then. See why it may be best to use hydraulic fittings.

Disco 2 Potential rear ace pipe repair.

Some of you may have read my post of a few days ago. Rear pipes rusted through, I managed to plug then giving me some time to work on the solution. Pipes broken of close to the valve block, pretty sure I could get the pipes out but was concerned that if the seals came out there may have been to...

    Disco 2 Rear Ace Pipes

Thank's for info. I did realise once I thought about it, the force would be the same turning nearside or offside. I do like the set up and will work to keep it rather then a refit an anti roll system. I thought the same with my old P38 air suspension and kept it going rather than shocks and...

    Disco 2 Rear Ace Pipes

Wrong about that then. Ace pipe suppliers appear to talk about high and low pressure pipes, must be low pressure is supply to valve block and high pressure to each side of the ram.

    Disco 2 Rear Ace Pipes

Sorted it now. The pipe with the 180 degree return goes to the lower valve port, I am guessing this is the low pressure pipe because it goes to the end of the ram where the piston seals are. Why would a designer over pressure seals when they can pressurise a closed end. The pipes were...

    Disco 2 Rear Ace Pipes

Gooday, It is a long time since I have been on here, but hopefully some one can tell me the rear top and bottom ace pipe connections. Had the usual leak problem where the pipes go over the chassis. Took the old pipes off breaking them at the valve as expected. Managed to plug the outlets to...

P38 pulling .86 amps (I think) when ignition off

Just an update where I am at the moment. Battery was still charged this morning 12.4v started OK. Think I can live with this, do not know why it has changed from discharging in a night, must have been playing with it !! Anyway took a look all round to see if there was any obsolete phone...

    Sorry should read 80mA drain.

P38 pulling .86 amps (I think) when ignition off

Disconnected the LPG supply appears to be tapped into a spare relay base via a spade Connector, will look a bit further into this ! Had a good look under dash, have taken a number of power supplies etc out over the years, do not think there is anything left., but will certainly take another...

P38 pulling .86 amps (I think) when ignition off

Thanks for replies gentlemen. Took a look late this afternoon. BECM does appear to be powering down, goes from .86 amp to .07 or .08 amp after two minuites or so, so still to high I think. Doors and Hood do not need to be closed to get a reading. Also removed all fused one by one with no...

P38 pulling .86 amps (I think) when ignition off

Thanks very much for the info. I have done some more research now (online) and think it is the BECM not shutting down. Going to test again with my meter, I believe it should power down about two minutes after turning off the ignition. Hood and doors should be shut. Thanks again. Frank

P38 pulling .86 amps (I think) when ignition off

Have a problem starting last week, battery discharging overnight. Tried a different battery, still the same. Put an ammeter between neg and frame, showing .86 amp discharge. Tried pulling fuses and relays, still the same. Noticed when I touched neg lead to batt terminal I heard a click sound...

    Rubberised window surrounds blistering

Thank you for your reply's gentlemen. Part numbers would be useful, but I am thinking the price would be more than the vehicle is worth, think I will start checking breakers. Regards Frank

    Rubberised window surrounds blistering

Can anyone help me source parts or offer a remedy to make my window surrounds look better. Three of them are badly blistered due to the reinforcing steel inside corroding and swelling. I can see they are not part of the glass channel. It may be cheaper to buy full doors off ebay. Any ideas ...

    Will the sensors be OK

Thank you for your info Fred. My sensors are the moulded lead type and the spares I have are Plug/Socket I just soldered wires onto the socket pins and turned them into flying leads, + filled the socket up with silicoln. I have seen the Storey Wilson site. I am sure he has helped a lot of...

    Will the sensors be OK

Thank you for your info. I think I am going to dowload the sofware and find out the specific problem. Fairly sure it is sensor related, but I would have to change one at a time to find out + the ones I am fitting are used and they may have a fault! Now I need a laptop (cheaper and easier in...

    Will the sensors be OK

Had my share of EAS faults. Been OK for a while since I repaired the compressor bags etc. But it has now gone into the high mode. I have some spare sensors but they are slightly different from the units fitted. Mine is a P38 1995. Sensor fitted. Colvern No CP17/414 16595 Spares...
