Found this behind the ignition barrel - any ideas?

Hey guys, I was changing my ignition switch today and while removing the barrel, I found this. It’s got a white cable going in one side and brown/white the other. Looks a bit like a fuse, but not like any did I’ve ever used. It’s also obviously melted, which is concerning. I can’t find it on the...

For Sale Pair of early Discovery 10 spline axles

As above, I have a set of 10 spline axles for sale. Off a 200tdi Discovery, so discs front and rear. Really not sure what I should be asking for them, can't see any for sale elsewhere to get an idea of the current price, so as much as I hate to say it, I'm open to offers. They're located in...

    200tdi conversion intercooler location

Hi guys, I'm part way through replacing my old 19J with a 200tdi and I've realised I don't have an intercooler. I've had a look around and the prevailing consensus is that it's pretty necessary to have one. My 200tdi chassis didn't come with a radiator attached so I was going to use the rad...

    19J engine - It's just a little chewed up, it's still good!

Actually no, I don't think this one is still good. Anyone need any 19j bits? I think it's time for an upgrade.

    For Sale Motorbike rack £20

Had this for years, it's a bit rusty, but not too bad. Used it a lot to carry around an old Honda scrambler I had, but as I not longer have that, there's no point keeping this! The mount bolts on to a normal tow bar fitting, and the rack itself slots in. There's a slot for a vertical bar that I...

    For Sale Defender/Series wing £120

Not sure what year this is for. I bought a pair as I needed a passenger wing, so this is surplus to requirements. It's been primered, and looks quite straight. Located in Canterbury, Kent, can deliver if you're local.

For Sale Defender Stainless Grille - £40

In good condition, a few scuffs on the back, but nothing on the front, just needs a clean. Took it off when I bought the Land Rover as I prefer the look of the original grille. Located in Canterbury, Kent

    19J crankshaft damper

Hey guys, I'm trying to find a replacement crankshaft damper for my 1989 90, but all I can find is one for non PAS vehicles. Will that fit? If not what part number am I looking for? Going to give it a go using a new damper, see if that helps my issue with my crankshaft pulley. I've just...

    19J crank pulley issue (again)

Hi all, About a year ago I had an issue with the crank pulley on the 90. It came loose on my way to Kent from the Lake District and I had to be towed home (which was a result, those AA lorries are really comfortable!). The woodruff key was completely worn away and the only solution for it was...

    Got pulled over this evening...

On Stone St near Canterbury in Kent, on my way home from an evening at a friend's house. I drove past a police car going in the opposite direction, then five minutes later was pulled over by two of them. They just wanted to make sure the Land Rover wasn't stolen. They were very polite and just...

    Need a part urgently!

Hi all, I know it doesn't go here but it's pretty urgent and I'm hoping for a bit more attention. I'm going to Le Mans on Wednesday night and my rear UJ has gone which has damaged the part that attaches to the rear diff. I can't fit the new UJ as it won't last five minutes. Does anyone in the...

    Replacement engine mounts for 19J

Hi all, I'm having issues finding a set of replacement engine mounts for the 19J, I've been googling all morning and have come up with nothing. Can someone point me in the right direction?

    Sleeping in a 90

I saw a thread a little while ago that had a few solutions to sleeping in the back. I can't find it at the moment but thought I'd share mine (so far) and get a bit of advice on finishing it. Essentially it's loft boards that rest around the top of the tub suspended by two steel bars I've made...

    Replacing radiator on 19J

Hi all, I've been looking at replacing the rad on my 90, can anyone recommend a decent place to get one? Also, is there any advantage in replacing it with a more modern unit from a later model?

Wanted Drivers seat for a 90, Kent

As above really, the frame for my drivers seat is completely buggered, and the seat isn't much better itself so looking for a replacement in decent condition in and around Kent. Ideally Grey to match the others. I can collect pretty much whenever.

    Engine mounts

I've had issues with my exhaust snapping repeatedly (5 times in the last year). I'm getting fed up of taking it off to repair it so was going to try and replace the engine mounts to see if less vibration would solve it. Before I go ahead and get them, is there anything else I should be checking...

    Making a 19J a bit more usable

Hi all, I know the usual thing is to swap out the older unit for a tdi or something with a bit more poke but I'd ideally like to keep my 90 as standard as possible. With that in mind what would be the cheapest or first things to try to make it a little more usable (improve cruising speed)...

Adding tow points to front bumper

After the dodgy weather this weekend we've got a tree down across a footpath up at my mum's place. Being the helpful chap I am I volunteered to go cut it up and move it, so loaded up the Landy with various saws and set off through the woods and there I stayed for two hours stuck in a massive...

    Filling holes in roof

Hi all, I've got a number of holes drilled in the roof of my 90, and I'm not entirely sure of how to fill them. I can't weld aluminium, and I'm not sure that would be the best fix anyway. I was thinking of cutting discs out of an old panel and bonding them on, but I'm not sure what to use to...

Battery cut off - any tips?

So I bought myself a nice big 40 amp relay and a switch. I'd like to wire them into a battery cut off to try and deter any would-be thieves. I was going to separate the battery cable between the positive terminal and the starter somewhere, would this be the right point to break the circuit?
