Filling holes in roof

Hi all,

I've got a number of holes drilled in the roof of my 90, and I'm not entirely sure of how to fill them. I can't weld aluminium, and I'm not sure that would be the best fix anyway. I was thinking of cutting discs out of an old panel and bonding them on, but I'm not sure what to use to bond?

Any ideas, or better solutions?

Araldite should do it if you wire brush the area, or any sealant, or a rubber grommet with an appropriate bolt. Id go for the latter since you never know when it might come in handy. It's all down to how permanent you want it.

Rubber grommet pushed in. Or, tape the hole over, sand the inside with some 40/60 grit paper, apply a smear of fibreglass, When cured removed tape and give it a lick of paint.

Ok cool, I'll have a play. I intend on sound-proofing the roof and carpeting over it to make it a little more refined. I'm happy to drill another hole if needed, so I'll try some araldite.

Araldite a patch on the inside. Once set, bodyfiller the hole/recess on the outside. Rub down, wet and dry, prime, spray bingo gone

I used blind grommet from the outside but also smeared some silicone onto the bottom of them to make them seal.

I also have used blind rivets with a little bit of silicon to plug holes....works great.

of course they can't, he paints their mandrels white and they feel their way in.
