Hi all, I've been looking at replacing the rad on my 90, can anyone recommend a decent place to get one?

Also, is there any advantage in replacing it with a more modern unit from a later model?

A radiator is pretty much a radiator, so I'd fit the correct part. You need the right one with the built-in oil cooler for a 19J.

You could fit a later 200/300tdi unit with the intercooler, which may help to reduce the heat stress a 19J tends to suffer from. If you did this without tinkering with the fuelling or turbo pressure (which will be measured pre-intercooler) then the actual air mass into the engine will be the same.

I replaced my Rad and Intercooler about 18 months ago. I bought one from paddocks for around £80 for the rad. It went straight in without any problems and seems fine, but is much lighter than the old one I took out. The original rad had been in there for 25 years I don't see the new one lasting anywhere near that. If I was going to keep the Landy next time round I would look into reconditioning the old rad.
