Sounds like the same as the problem I had, basically get the starter internals kit (about £12 of eBay) and remove the starter and replace the terminals inside, easy job should sort it out

Yes there are clips or the clip is integral and needs pulling back away from the body iirc then the pipes can be released with a pull and a wiggle, when you undo the brass pipe assemblies watch out for the reed filter and internal bits on a couple of the outlet pipes, check out the configuration...

Hi Andy - just took off my chequer plate et voila so I've uploaded a few pics with dimensions on for you - hope it helps - and yes I do need some welding on that bulkhead.... yet another job... :-)

I drilled mine out it was easy enough. You'll find the ones at the front and side near the gearbox tunnel are into square orange plastic captive nuts (part number CZA4705L) which I replaced for a few quid for a pack or two (always useful) and the ones nearest the door are just nuts and bolts...

I guess that’s why I favour a thinner box at the side rather than something that fits over the top, seems like quite a bit of useful space there which I hadn’t really considered before

I do have some redundant space beside the battery reckon a small ammo box might fit down there for tools etc cheers!
