Getting fuel, pump working, plugs wet due to not firing up. Tried a spare ecu my mate had for an old rover214 he used to have, sparking great while cranking now but only starts and runs like a bag of bolts for a few seconds then cuts out. Will try get proper ecu tomorrow and see what happens...
Hi folks, can someone help? Freelander 1, 1.8 would not start first thing this morning, it turned over and offered to fire for a second or so then just turned over with no sign of firing up. Have checked for fuel supply and it's ok, have fitted brand new spark plugs, rotor arm and dizzy cap...
Hi folks, does anyone know what the perkins 4.212 is like? i have been offered one that was fitted to a land rover (but not by the guy who is offering it to me). I would like to know as much as possible about this engine as i don't want to miss the chance of it. I do know they are slow rev...
Hi there mate,i'm from the same area & i asked the same qestion a wee while ago & did'nt get much options to choose from. Buchan off road drivers club have a web site you could look at. BORDC Home, I think? Apart from that, there's nae much i'm afraid.
Hi folks, anybody know if a TD5 Disco auto box will fit the good old V8 engine? i'm not worried about clearance with body/tunnel or any other lining up isues, as this is a one off beast for offroading & will be built around the mechanicals to suit. All i nee to know is the bellhousing/engine...
A suspension lift should do you. I'm running 33x12.50x15 mud terrains on 10x15 rims & a 2" suspension lift. only mods are wide arch extensions, no probs with rubbing or scuffing anywhere.
Hi folks, looking for advise on the carb setting on my disco. She's a 3.5 v8, manual & running on stromberg cd 175 carbs with k&n cone air filters. It runs & starts ok apart from under full load, it seems to be running a bit weak. I know this is due to the k&n filters alowing more air in than...
Hi, i think the site atInverbervie is no longer open, something to do with planning objection, so i've been told. I know that the web site is no longer available. Bit of a bummer, as i wanted to try that site, now that my disco V8 is up & running.
Does anyone know where i can go off-roading in the north east of scotland, i know of a few places ( activity centres ) where you can drive off road using vehicles that belong to them, but not allowed to use your own vehicle, i'm looking for sites that are pay & play, but they seem to be a bit...
Hi there, just keep your eyes open & im sure something will turn up. You might find something on ebay if your lucky, but make sure it's close enough for you to go & view & inspect it before bidding. It's fairly easy to convert a 90 or a 110 hard top 3 door model into a pickup, converting a 110...
Hi there, the biggest part of the conversion, is to convert the bulkhead/dash. the 110 has no provision for fitting the pedal box, you have to measure up & cut/drill the holes needed to fit everything. My dash wont be such a challenge as im making a one off item. the rest is fairly staight...
yes, the swivel housing. the RHD one has no steering arm cast into it. The brackets i mentioned bolt to the chassis & steering box & provide a mounting point for the panhard rod.
Hi there folks, im collecting parts to convert my 110 to a LHD. all i need now is the two brackets that bolt through the steering box & chassis & the bare hub assembly with the steering arm thats cast into it, that the drag link attaches to. Iv'e tried various Ex MOD suppliers & ebay etc, but...
Hi there mate, not sure about books on building 100" hybrid, but i am building one at the moment & i can tell you that you have to make sure you measure very carefuly before cutting any body/chassis parts. Make sure you have a solid idea of what you want the finnished beast to look like...
Hi folks, my series 111 88" petrol has an overdrive fitted already, but would it be worth fitting range rover diffs as well, or would a change of tyre size be all thats needed?? i am looking to further improve th MPG / RPM. The tyres are 205 / 16 at the moment. it has already been sugested to...
