Hi folks, my series 111 88" petrol has an overdrive fitted already, but would it be worth fitting range rover diffs as well, or would a change of tyre size be all thats needed?? i am looking to further improve th MPG / RPM. The tyres are 205 / 16 at the moment. it has already been sugested to up the tyre size to 7.50 / 16.

the more yer up the ratio the less acce'leration yer gonna have and if yer got a 2.25 injun yer gonna want all the accelleration you can find.
if you do a search there are web sites that do tyre size comparisions that tell you what the rolling circumference is for each tyre size.

If you fit Range Rover Diffs you'll defeat the object of having an
overdrive ,and the poor little engine will struggle. You'll also lose the current low gear ratio if and when selected.Ask youself a question? Why did land rover not fit them in the first place .Personally I'd leave it as it is as it is well proven. Also no expense is incurred .However the choice is yours.
