perkins

Hi folks, does anyone know what the perkins 4.212 is like? i have been offered one that was fitted to a land rover (but not by the guy who is offering it to me). I would like to know as much as possible about this engine as i don't want to miss the chance of it. I do know they are slow rev motors but i can live with that, it would be used for towing mostly.

They are heavy. I would recommend that you look at a late Jap diesel engine if you want a good towing barge.

had a rangie with a perkins in it, dont know what perkins just that it was the slowest thing Ive ever driven. It probably would have pulled great but so do tractors and they were faster!!!
