    Bumper Bolts

once again thanks for the replies, my main issue is the fit is such a tight fit where it bolts onto the chassis that im having to manoeuvre it with a rubber mallet. i'll give it another try tonight and see what i can come up with

    Bumper Bolts

Thank you for the reply, i have now fitted the winch bumper but it is not sitting level, it is angled towards the floor. Has anyone experienced this and if so how did they rectify it?

    Bumper Bolts

I'm fitting a winch bumper to my discovery 2 tomorrow and would like to buy the correct size bolts. I've heard that they need to have a tensile strength of 8.8 or upwards. but what width/length do they need to be? I'd like to have them ready before i take my old ones out.

    Sticky clutch pedal

Hi there, I’ve just been to view a discovery 2 TD5 and when I got there it was all warmed up and drove fine, went into and out of gear easy. But when questioned about it being warm and wanting to see it cold the owner confessed that when cold the clutch sticks and you have to pump it 5-10 times...

    Power Steering Reservoir

Perfect, thank you. I presume it will need to be flushed and changed as it was a dark brow colour, but i'm glad that the swirling/thrashing about is normal

    Power Steering Reservoir

Hi all, forgive me for a potentially stupid question but i went to look at a 2001 D2 TD5 and everything seemed great, my only concern was that the fluid in the power steering reservoir seemed to be thrashing about inside whilst the engine was on and the car was sitting stationary. Is this...

    2002 TD5 Spigot Bush Change?

Digging up a very old thread here but did you ever fully diagnose the issue or did you end up just going down the Ashcroft route? Reason for asking is i've seen a 2003 disco 2 with 144k on the clock, 11 months mot, but a suspected 'spigot bearing playing up' they want £1500 for it but i'm just...

    Discovery 2 newbie

Still on the hunt for discovery's. I've seen a nice looking D2 but its an auto, i was told to avoid them as they are constantly needing new gear boxes. Should i listen to this advice or are they okay if looked after?

    Discovery 2 newbie

Thats a great idea, funnily enough theres a mint d2 for sale not far from me, way out of my price range but i'll check it out to know whats good. Same as defenders then, chassis rust is a big big issue. I'lI presume just because it leaks oil its not a no no, but it all depends on how much and...

    Discovery 2 newbie

Happy with doing bits myself, in fact ever since selling my classic mini i've missed the diy aspect of car ownership. I presume, nanocom and hawkeye are the best of the diagnostics, the others not worth looking at? Thanks for those points, i'll keep a eye out for them.

    Discovery 2 newbie

Maybe i'm missing something? I've read it and it just mentions about the alarm? Don't get me wrong though its very helpful and a useful tip but only about one point

    Discovery 2 newbie

Thanks for that, but stated before, its a useful tip but only refers to the alarm. Nothing about any of the other points..

    Discovery 2 newbie

Hi i'm looking at buying my first discovery 2 (preferably facelift) but i know nothing about them. Can someone point me to buyers guide or let me know what to look out for? for example i've seen ones with the DSC removed, is that a good thing or a bad thing? Another common thing is the air bags...
