Power Steering Reservoir

Hi all, forgive me for a potentially stupid question but i went to look at a 2001 D2 TD5 and everything seemed great, my only concern was that the fluid in the power steering reservoir seemed to be thrashing about inside whilst the engine was on and the car was sitting stationary. Is this normal or is something wrong with the pump?

Normal.... it pumps back into the reservoir.

Perfect, thank you. I presume it will need to be flushed and changed as it was a dark brow colour, but i'm glad that the swirling/thrashing about is normal

+1 ^^^ , be glad it's so cos it means that the pump is working

If it stops swirling.... then worry. Flushed out, yes. I flushed mine with new fluid, but didnt get it all out... its red, with a tinge of dark brown.

sods law, that will happen if i buy it!!

Once you fix anything on a Landy, something else comes out in sympathy.
