    mot's and mot's..

Cheers guys, took it somewhere else saturday for a quote for new cill, core plugs and a few other bits, they only wanted it for two days but couldnt do it for a fortnight. Anyway sent a ****ey email this morning saying if I hadnt heard by the end of the day I'd take it elsewhere, needless to...

    Possible loss of sanity

Can't you fill it through the breather? I fitted range rover diffs which was a brilliant idea until I tried to put the oil in! I think I looked up the exact amount either on here or in the haynes manual.

    mot's and mot's..

I'd rather take it to someone that wants the job, just wanted to be doubly sure about the mot stuff before I tell them where to shove it!

    mot's and mot's..

My usual garage have let me down on my MOT, booked it up right at the beginning of august for the MOT and to have whatever work that needed doing done, plus a few other bits for the 12th of september in the hope i'd have it for my trailer test on the 26th and at the latest today as it runs out...

    Do i...

get shot of this.. and a 300tdi disco, mechanically I've had it to bits and replaced lots of stuff, recon gearbox etc. It's a dog to look at, BUT I like it, it's comfy, it does the job, it's cheap and I'll get a few more years lumping a trailer about with it.. or lumber meself with a loan...

    Gearbox/clutch

The gears have always been sticky on the disco but drove a series every day for 3 years so not worried too much.. I've done a search but can't quite find what I'm after but please feel free to point me in the right direction! 2nd gear has always been problematic when cold and a small clunk...

Daily use of my '72 S3 - crazy?

I dunno about going over the alps but normally, a couple of 13mm spanners, couple of screwdrivers, pliers and an adjustable usually do it - plus half a dozen spare bulbs. Always deemed a fire extinguisher useful.. an unfounded worry so far! Havent had too many problems to fix quickly but I...

Daily use of my '72 S3 - crazy?

Exactly! Mine hasnt broken for a week or two.. but then it has been safely locked in the garage! In reality, I've only had to be towed home once in 3 or 4 years and then it was something I could have fixed on the side of the road anyway! The rest of the times it's packed up have been self...

Daily use of my '72 S3 - crazy?

I foolishly used mine daily for 3 years.. it eventually hacked me off. You won't fix the niggles, you will however, after the hundredth time sat on the side of the road going nowhere be able to identify said niggle at speed. If you're even luckier you might fix it. Weather proofing is...
