My usual garage have let me down on my MOT, booked it up right at the beginning of august for the MOT and to have whatever work that needed doing done, plus a few other bits for the 12th of september in the hope i'd have it for my trailer test on the 26th and at the latest today as it runs out!

Anway, it had it's MOT on the 12th and sat there ever since, failed on a bit of welding to one of the door pillars and somewhere else, nothing major.

As it's had a MOT there and a failure would there be any issue with taking it to another garage for a new MOT (not a retest) when there is an outstanding failure on it? I dont know it all works, I have searched around!

It's sat there for nearly 3 weeks and not been touched, dont really mind if it's done in 6 months time as long as I know and its done on the day they say but I'm clearly a bad bad customer as they havent even returned a call!

I'd rather take it to someone that wants the job, just wanted to be doubly sure about the mot stuff before I tell them where to shove it!

will be on the computer system as a fail so whichever garage you take it to will be aware of what it failed on.

but they can still retest it anyway. Why don't you ring round a couple of garages, explain the situation and ask if they'll do the work and the MOT ?

He's lost the free retest bit anyway as it has to be done within 10 working days (I believe)

Cheers guys, took it somewhere else saturday for a quote for new cill, core plugs and a few other bits, they only wanted it for two days but couldnt do it for a fortnight.

Anyway sent a ****ey email this morning saying if I hadnt heard by the end of the day I'd take it elsewhere, needless to say after 5 mins the phone rang and a long apology later its being done tomorrow and they are staying there till its done... it's a shame really cos I like the the chap who looked at it saturday, needless to say it'll be going there next time!
