    2003 4.4 HSE alarm woes

The problem was that the key internals were totally knackered and beyond any sort of repair, so they couldn't put the old internals into a new fob/key. The only option was a complete new key & fob, and as I said I was told that an OEM one can be supplied pre-programmed and it will work right out...

    2003 4.4 HSE alarm woes

Tried Timpsons and another specialist key place but both said the internals are completely knackered on both keys and they can't be repaired, so my only option is a genuine replacement pre-programmed by Landrover, at about £400. I gather that there might be other ways to do it, but after phoning...

Appreciate the replies, I'm going to get my keys repaired (one at a time in case it doesn't work) and then see if that helps.

    2003 4.4 HSE alarm woes

Apologies if this has been asked before, I did do a search but couldn't fix my issue. I just bought a 2003 4.4 HSE and both keys are knackered, the button that you press to lock the car is caved in and simply doesn't work. Everything seems to be ok with the car except I can't lock it with the...

    Recommend me a supercharged engine...

Not necessarily massive bhp, but some more would be nice, the V8 is a bit sluggish with those big wheels on. Obviously its not going to end there though, if I put loads more torques in place then I'll probably have to beef up the drivetrain so I don't snap everything when I hit the gas...

    Recommend me a supercharged engine...

The best common sense solution. So recommending a Veyron engine probably wouldn't be a simple solution. I had the idea that perhaps the Supercharged engine from the Range Rover might be an option, but then I don't really know. I've heard of people putting Corvette engines in.

    Recommend me a supercharged engine...

I have a 4.0L V8 in Dubai. Thinking of doing something interesting with it, I fancy some serious BHP and big brakes first. What engines are relatively simple to slot in?

Two Defenders on two different continents.

The grey V8 might end up with a supercharged engine in it at some point this year. The 4.0L V8 is 'steady' but it isn't particularly exciting. It needs a supercharged engine and a set of big brakes/discs on it.

Two Defenders on two different continents.

Hi, I've used this forum before for tips but never joined, so thought I'd pop up and say hello. We live in Dubai and have a V8 90 Jap spec 1997 and have a 1999 Td5 at our house in the UK. I've loved 'Defenders' since I was a kid and bought the Td5 a few years ago despite people telling me...
