I'm going to be away for a couple of weeks, but would be up for another run after that.

Could a new bumper really affect the warranty?

Yeah :) figured a week without scratches was long enough :p

Could a new bumper really affect the warranty?

Well, the guy did say that Land Rover had rejected an engine warranty claim on a non-aircon defender which had had the OE aircon unit fitted after it was bought because mounting it in front of the radiator could restrict airflow to the engine, even though that's exactly how they fit it in the...

Could a new bumper really affect the warranty?

No idea... I was just planning on bolting it on myself... Seems buying new has it's own type of problems  I'll ask the place I bought it from and see what the deal is.

Could a new bumper really affect the warranty?

Two weeks old. I figure I'm safe from any "it's not designed to be used off road" excuses because I bought it with MT tyres designed primarily for off road use. Of course, I'm hoping never to need the warranty anyway!

Could a new bumper really affect the warranty?

I'm thinking of putting on a cheap HD bumper to have some front recovery eyes in a more convenient position than jate rings, but when I was at Gigglepin today picking up some basic recovery gear they said I should check that it wouldn't affect the warranty before buying one. Would/could Land...

    0-60 - What's yours?

The brochure claims a leisurely 15.9 seconds for the 2.2 -- I haven't tried this out yet but will have a crack next time I'm out.

So sloooooow compared to the rest of you! And it doesn't look nearly as bad on video as it seemed on the day! Nice vid though. Cool to see the traction control kicking in when the front wheel was off the ground and getting the other one to drive. I know some people aren't fans of the...

Devon 4x4 - Why all the hate?

Pretty much every time devon 4x4 or D44 are mentioned when I've been reading older threads on this forum people chime in with a load of negative comments, usually involving them being "overpriced" and/or "c**ts". But looking around the web and on other forums they seem to have a pretty good...

    Greenlaning nr Guildford?

Haha I was absolutely bricking it! Very different to the sportscars I'm used to. Leaning over to the side feels so unnatural at the moment!

Nice pic! The video should look great, assuming my camera work wasn't too terrible.

    Greenlaning nr Guildford?

Well, I figure I may as well come along and meet you guys, and have a go at the gentler lanes where I'm unlikely to get stuck. Then I'll get myself some basic recovery kit and a CB for next time.

    Greenlaning nr Guildford?

Hey guys I'm interested in coming along but apart from a D90 on MT tyres I don't have any of the kit yet. (See my noob post here http://www.landyzone.co.uk/lz/f16/when-should-you-buy-off-roading-kit-264010.html) What do you reckon? Greg

When should you buy off-roading kit?

Some good replies, the overall gist being I don't need much except a rope and some recovery eyes. So forgive me some stupidity as a n00b, how do I get recovery eyes onto it? I can't weld which seems to rule out all the suggestions I have seen.

When should you buy off-roading kit?

I've just bought a Defender 90 2.2 with MT tyres and am planning on taking it green laning and off roading, but looking on here it seems that some kit is recommended or essential before doing so, e.g. - recovery eyes? (standard ones say only suitable for road recovery not off road) - ropes? -...

Mods for a trip to scandinavia in March/April

Scandinavia is crazy crazy expensive, particularly Norway. For guidance a burger and chips will set you back about £20 and a beer about £10 -- and that's in Oslo which is cheaper than most of the rest of the country because it gets more expensive as it gets more remote. Accommodation is also on...

    Just ordered a Defender

Nice tip, have been looking at trailmasters and looks a lot of fun. Not sure what best way down is. 1400 miles drive or very expensive ferry and 700 miles drive. One for next year though I think. The mrs is up for it.
