Best value re manufactured diesel injectors

As per the title, going to bite the bullet and get the injectors replaced. Another one is one its way out. The local Landy specialist wants around £200 for a quality re manufactured unit. i see a couple on eBay for £100 plus but concerned about them lasting and being a false economy. Can anyone...

    Maf sensor part no. Please

Brilliant guys. The pics are really helpful. Think I will take the easy option. Take the sensor out of the housing and clean or replace. I can see those other two screws holding the Maf housing in place being lost for good. Thanks again both for your help.

    Maf sensor part no. Please

Hi, yes I disconnected the MAF and drove the car. No difference really, maybe only a bit more pull (over fuelling?) I read that if it made no difference it's likely the sensor has gone? I am treating it as a serviceable part. Cheaper diy fix than getting a garage to replace injectors. They did a...

    Maf sensor part no. Please

Many thanks for those links Arctic. So I think I will just purchase a whole unit. Not much more and to be honest I don't have the bit to remove the torx screws from the sensor. Does the complete unit just 'clip on' - no screws are difficulty involved removing it? Thanks again

    Maf sensor part no. Please

Thanks hd3. I read that you can disconnect this and start the engine to see if the idle improves. Is that ok to do without causing any damage? Thinking that a Maf sensor (diy job) and or a new fuel pressure sensor / connector kit might be a lot cheaper than replacing injectors.

    Maf sensor part no. Please

Thanks. I have just changed the fuel and air filters. Also have the bmw crankcase breather and egr bypass fitted in the last six months. I need to check the fuel pressure sensor and connectors. Just need to find a pic of where they are. Back to the Maf test. If I unplugged it should I not have...

    Maf sensor part no. Please

Hi, the td4 Freelander has been very lumpy at idle for a while now. It's only got 75000 miles on the clock so I was looking into cheaper possibilities before going down the replacement injector route. I read that the MAF sensor can go and effect running, low down response etc. I decided to...

    Td4 turbo filter location?

Yes getting the rear fuel filter done also along with a reconditioned hp fuel pump - dam thing has been leaking slightly. What's the schedules for the ird, gear box and rear diff oil changes? The car has 78,000 miles on it and a full Land Rover specialist service history on it. Cheers

    Td4 turbo filter location?

Great thanks guys. Yeah replaced the crankcase breather with the bmw part last year. Been changing the cabin filter, air filter and now turbo vent filter. Getting the garage to do the oil and filter change as I don't have ramps. I think that's all the serviceable parts / filters?

    Td4 turbo filter location?

Sorry, was too quick to ask the question.... Took the cover off and found it clipped in at the back. Filthy. Looks like that has not been changed in a long time!

    Td4 turbo filter location?

Hi, I decided to change the various filters on my 2006 td4 freelander. I noticed that there is a small filter for the turbo? Anyway I have purchased one and was poking about the engine bay and could not find the existing one? Has it been removed or is it hidden somewhere. I took a photo and...

    Freelander taxation class???

Yep, my TD4 was registered in September 2006 and is in the lower tax bracket. I almost bought a petrol X Trail but the tax was frightening...although mybe not as frightening as the Freelander maintenance bills!

    Td4 leak?

Unfortunately it appears that the leak is coming from my car. Cold weather, diesel drips and through reading the posts on here it sounds like the pump seals. Only does it when starting in the cold. Came back after a longish drive and no drips after that. So how urgent is it that I get this...

    Td4 leak?

I noticed a rusty, oily and a bit creamy looking deposit on my parking space tonight. Noticed the coolant had dropped a little from max to half way between this and min. Any ideas what this might be? Engine oil level fine. Cheers

    Newbie needing assistance !!! TD4 !!!

My td4 did this not long after I bought it. I would be out and it would warm up nicely and drive fine. When I stopped and went back to it, it struggled to start. It ended up being a faulty injector.

    Reconditioned injectors td4

Can anyone recommend a good place to purchase reconditioned injectors? I don't want to spend £300 on a new one or purchase one of ebay to find it was simply given a quick clean. Thanks in advance.

What is the plastic tank under the car (TD4)

Hi, thanks for the replies. The prop and vcu are off for the moment and driving in 2wd. I have new ones to be fitted. Yeah it's a rusty bugger under there but no more than I would expect for an older car. I guess if that's the fuel tank then I had better get the shield looked at?

What is the plastic tank under the car (TD4)

I was having a poke under the car today and found the metal cradle surrounding the white plastic tank badly corroded. What does the white tank hold? Should I be worrying about the shield falling apart? Thanks
