    intermittent ACE warning light.

Having read the other threads my problem seems to be similar but not the same. The light comes on when I start the car then after driving it a while, not necessarily very far and a couple more stop starts, it goes off. By which I mean I start it, or even just turn the ignition on and it tests...

Foxwell 520 pro need to switch movement sensor.

In my Disco 2 the movement sensor/PIR whatever it flipping is is misbehaving. Setting the alarm off if I lock it with the remote. So tried to find a way of disabling it with the above diagnostic. It is possible that I am looking in the wrong subsection of the mkenus but I just cannot seem to...

Air flow logged low, IAT logged high.

Hi all, looking for help with a problem that only seems to occur when the engine gets really hot and/or when the weather is hot. Could this simply be that the MAP/IAT needs replacing? The Fault is that as I pull away from a standstill, i.e when lights change or when joining a roundabout, the car...

Intercooler hoses on TD5 three or four?

Looking to replace mine having found one with a split. And looking on the net some kits seem to contain 4 hoses and some contain 3. Please can anyone enlighten me as to why there is such a difference? As far as I can tell without taking too much off, I only need three. Thanks in...

Decent Disco breakers for trim and rear light

Need the nearside corner piece of trim that sits just above the rear bumper. And an offside rear light cluster for the door pillar. Both for a MY 2000 Disco 2. I would be very thankful for anyone who has one/both and wants to get rid of it/them. But that being unlikely, mainly I am hoping...

Disco 2, front sunroof will open but not slide back.

Manual, not electric. So it tilts up but won't go any further and yes I do push the button in. (Wonderin if that is where the problem is, if so.......? To be frank, doesn't feel like it thought the handle is a bit wobbly despite my tightening the screw.) Gets opened fairly regularly and never...

a foolproof method of filling the TD5 with coolant? I can't manage to avoid airlocks.

As it says really , I am on my third or 4th attempt to do this before towing a trailer with a car on it 600 odd miles, including some very steep mountain roads. The only thing I have yet to try is filling it really slowly. I lift the expansion tank as I should, the coolant flows out of the bleed...

Coolant leak apparently from the casting that the coolant pump/PS pump mounts onto.

Hi! Has anyone else had this and could you tell me what gaskets etc I need to effect a cure? I don't think it's the pump or its housing just the connection between the pump and the block, inside the mounting block. all contributions will be gratefully received! Stan

coolant leak from cast block mounting?

Hi. My coolant leak seems to be coming form the casting that is mounted on the engine. The one that then takes the PS pump and the coolant pump. Has anyone else seen/had this and do you know which gasket(s) I need to reseal it? Thanks in advance. Stan

    Tension collet

Hi. Currently struggling a bit with removing the steering knuckle. (I am aware "a bit" sounds bonkers, this is the first time i have had trouble separating ball joints but then also the first time I have had to try and do two at once, if that makes sense.) All the ball joints seem to have...

How to make sure you get a decent deal if your car is hit by a third party.

This has cropped up a couple of times recently. Insurance companies hate paying out properly, at any time, and they love to con peeps by saying the magic words, "write off" and "Uneconomical to repair" If it is absolutely the third party's fault, then his/her insurance company MUST pay for...

Hi I have the pukka LR seat covers, refs STC50055LPW and STC 50056LPW. Came with the vehicle. The instructions for putting them on, the plastic bags they came in and the two labels from inside the bags, tell you nothing about how to wash them (Yes the previous owner DID hand these over!) The...
