Thats a logical idea but then where is it getting the air from or will the IACV compensate for that?

Just went out a re-checked all of the pipes and manifold. Nothing. Started her up and sat at 2500, then put my foot on the accelerator and pushed up to 4000. foot off and doesnt drop.

Ill re-check all the pipes etc tomorrow. It acts like a sticking throttle but the throttle is returning as normal, as is the butterfly.

Throttle cable and pipes are fine. Could the timing cause this if it is slightly out?

The throttle cable was never disconnected but has been checked and is correct. The water system is fully bled, the engine wasnt at running temp by the time I turned it off. I am thinking that maybe the timing is slighty out. I havent checked yet, but if its over revving and the manifold gets...

had a look at the manifold and its fine. So what could be causing it?????

Im using the original manifold. It did get left in the engine bay while the engine came out and the new one went in. Ive blocked the throttle body off and still over revs so must be a break in the manifold somewhere. Ill just go grab the gaffa tape.

Just checked the IACV. Cut the air off but its still over revving?

Theres definitely no are leak. I just started her up again and sat at 3000rpm. turned it off and started her aain and went up to 5000rpm. Seems likely that its the IACV. Is there any way of servicing this?

Its a petrol.

I have checked all this. No issues. What seems odd was when it started it was at 1000rpm for about 1 second then just climbed to 5000rpm.

Just changed the engine over and started it up. Just idles at 5000rpm. This has never happened before. Anyone have any ideas?

Ill get on that now. I am sure its not. It was working fine before I changed the engine. So more than likely the solenoid has been damaged. More than the odds of the ignition switch anyway.

New one it is then. Your pictures a bit of a mind #### lol

Yeah. Can I repair the solenoid at all or is it going to need changing?
