    The horn on my 2002 TD4 has given up the ghost. Checked the fuses and they are all OK. Are there any obvious checks I can carry out to get to the bottom of the problem? What is the easiest way of checking the horn itself?

    How do you check for worn IRD bearings

    Is there a definitive test that you can do to tell if the IRD bearings are worn or nearing that point? I have up and down movement on the IRD within the bearings on my TD4 automatic. Does this mean they are worn or is some degree of movement normal?

    IRD oil smells burnt

    I changed the oil in my TD4 IRD at the weekend and the oil that came out smelt 'burnt'. There was little swarf in evidence on the drain plug.
