I changed the oil in my TD4 IRD at the weekend and the oil that came out smelt 'burnt'. There was little swarf in evidence on the drain plug. Is this usual or is it a sign of the IRD about to let go? Could this also be evidence of the VCU starting to seize up.
Car has done about 100,000 miles and is an auto that is mainly driven by my wife so does not get a hard life.
