    Heater switch & cable

Just finished fitting my new fan heater switch and control cable to my 110. No diffrence, fan still not working, has to be the resistor or motor brushes that are stopping it now. Fuse is fine and power at fan wires. I did find one problem though when fitting the new cable onto the fan box...

    clutch problems on my 90

If you can find out if the garage fitted a complete full clutch and new thrust bearing. Some crank garages sometimes only put a new plate in there which is almost no use.

    clutch problems on my 90

Do you use the clutch pedal as a foot rest? This can seriously reduce the life of your clutch and cause damage to the thrust bearing

What have you learned from Defender ownership?

String, cable ties, silicone, hacksaw and hammer. Also very important, never ever leave home without a major toolkit and big box of spares with you including flask and butties (flask containing stella to numb the shock) when you cant fix it. After the stella you'll think of a way to do it.

    cold cold mornings

Get some old heat bricks out of an old storage heater, they are very high iron content so retain a lot of heat, new ones are only cheap in electrical wholesalers. When we take them out of storage heaters that have been charging the night before we cannot touch them as they are so hot

How to test heater blower motor.

Hi, I have set about getting the blower working on my 1988 110. I have just ordered a new dash control switch, the original had been disconnected and a dodgy sitch fitted that was wired wrong to start with. I have checked that power is going to the motor via the purple wire, and at the cab end...
