Fitting a boost gauge. Simple? Nope. Fail!

read posts...you won't see it unless you take the turbo intake/airbox pipe off!!! drilling and tapping the plenum is best done off the car, otherwise nice bits of ally are going to end up in the engine, taking the boost from there is more accurate, but the work doesn't outweigh what difference...

Fitting a boost gauge. Simple? Nope. Fail!

on a discovery the pipe goes under the air intake hose, you will only see it if you remove the air intake hose, from the turbo intake, and airbox, the pipe that needs the T piece plugs into the wastgate, from the turbo, on like a brass nipple, it looks like fuel pipe, the pipe is about 8 inches...

    Marine aquarium-ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh help

don't bother with external canister filters on a system like that, all it will do is feed nitrite into the main tank...i used to look after 60 odd tanks 20 of them being marine/invert tanks and have a 5x2x2 marine/coral tank myself. as people have posted take as much of the original tank...

    turbo boost

if you're worried fit a boost gauge, while you are plumbing in the gauge you could check all the pipework too, it would give you an idea what it's boosting at and at what revs, they are quite cheap, and easy to install :)

Evo II semi synth gearbox oil

i'm due to change the gearbox and transfer box oils on my Disco soon, has anybody noticed any improvements using this when the engine is cold, sometimes until the box warms up it's a bit of a bitch to change gears. also changing into 3rd is a bit snatchy, will this oil improve that or not?

might have found where 1 leak is

got mine from ebay jgs 4x4 about 30p each i think, looks easy enough to do too, as long as you can get the injectors out, might need a slide hammer, and thread adapter if they are gunked up in there, but apart from that looks ok to do :)

    door lock spring

I did the same thing a couple of weeks ago 1. take a picture, or if you have a good memory look where all the linkages go 2. door handle, card ect. take them off 3. undo the mirror and connections, and take off 4. undo the torx bolts i think there are two of them, one near the top hinge, and i...

might have found where 1 leak is

someone mentioned on the forum when i did a search about, the leak off pipes going brittle (think it was Paul D's post) but if it is them they must be leaking from the back, seems like they are quite dry though.

might have found where 1 leak is

I think i might have discovered where one of the oil leaks are on my Disco 1, it's a 300TDI engine, i have added a pic, as i'm not too familiar with the names of the parts, but i think it's coming from two of the injectors, would this be an easy fix, or is it going to be pricey, i have seen the...

    cb help

I know it sounds silly but, make sure the CB isn't switched to PA mode, undo the mic, unscrew the the two screws holding the mic connector together, and see if all the connections have a good solder joint, if not resolder them, or if you're not very good at soldering get a mate to do it. you...

    cb help

don't suppose it's an older type one with a PA system on it...is it? or check all your connections, could even be people on homebase antenna, so you can hear them but they can't hear you (range) might be a faulty wired mic, or even a faulty mic pickup...there could be a number of reasons or...
