Classic Ignition switch wiring colours at the plug.

After removing my bonkers immobiliser, I'm reconnecting the wires and need a wee swatch of advice. Following the wires running down from the ignition switch I have: Brown----battery I assume White n Red----starter? Orange and white---ignition, fusible link? Fat white--- assume load relay and...

Classic Autobox lurch, but not clunky?

Okay dokey! Does it just tend to be the small gears that wear or does the pinion and crown-wheel go as well?

Classic Autobox lurch, but not clunky?

Good job Wammers. It's the front diff. Do I need any weird tools? What about the adjuster nut on the bearing?

Classic Autobox lurch, but not clunky?

Hi folks. My 92 Rangie flew through the MOT yesterday, so that's the good news. Anyhoo, I have lurch on take up in drive or reverse. I've been reading up on the threads concerning this and just wish no know if I've missed anything. -check wee hatch on transfer box looking for worn pin thingy...

Classic Knocking when turning right...CV joint?

Hi folks. Just looking for a little conformation here and to make sure I don't forget anything else. When I turn to the right whilst moving there is a knocking sound from the front and I can feel a knock coming through the pedals. Would this indeed be the Cv? I'll check fluids as well and...

Classic Stub axle to swivel housing gasket and gap??

My shafts have a brass rubbing collar that fits into the recessed bit you can see on the right. I'm wondering if I have to use an ABS swivel and use ABS top pin and bearing now. Maybe this is a fault or maybe they're no longer made this way. Anyway, it was a Britpart Genuine part, so I'm miffed...

Classic Stub axle to swivel housing gasket and gap??

Okay, has some time today and did some measuring. Britpart ball seems ever so slightly shorter, but not enough. Hmm. Wait a cotton pickn' moment!!! Spot the difference... Help. What do I do? I have a RRC without abs, so FRC7065 appeared to be the correct one, but it ain't.

Classic Stub axle to swivel housing gasket and gap??

I've still got the same problem. it must be something obvious. my type only has a little brass spacer on the shaft; it does not have a clip or anything. AAArrrrggh! Mine is of this type with a stub shaft and the CV is seperate

Classic Stub axle to swivel housing gasket and gap??

I saw that already thanks. I seem to sort of have it, but I have question. Once the stub axle is on and tightened the swivel housing is really, really tight to turn. Is this normal? I mean, before it was really really loose because the swivel bearings were shot and I don't know how it should...

Classic Stub axle to swivel housing gasket and gap??

It seems to fit flusher the more I pull the top pin up. Would this have an effect? It only has 3 shims on at the mo until more parts arrive tomorrow.

Classic Stub axle to swivel housing gasket and gap??

Hi all. Just a quick question about the mating of the stub axle face and the swivel housing. It took an age to separate the gasket and sealant, on putting it back on after a swivel ball change there seems to be a bit of a gap (about 1mm) between them. Will this be taken up by the gasket and...
