Yes there are several threads on this already which I will be searching through. However, before I start can someone remind me of the correct sequence of the TC and ABS lights from ignition on, engine started, to rolling forward? Do both come on immediately? I know both should be out once...
No sorry, it really is the pcb I need, the abs light is always on and I have disconnected all external inputs from the sensors and ecu etc, but still the light is on!
Question : when the cylinder head is off and the top timing chain sprocket is sitting loose on the top chain guides, is it possible for the chain to slip on the bottom sprocket so that it may get one tooth out of sync?
Have set the timing up as per Haynes, with a lock on the flywheel through...
I month later and still no further on! Very rough running but only when coolant in. Head tested - 100%, head skimmed, new gasket and correctly torqued etc. Fuelling ok and red plug clear. Need to get checked with Nanocom to see difference with/without coolant in. Any offers Aberdeen area?
Not hard to start. Purging not required. Runs well and smooth until coolant added, then after about 30 mins, restart and the rough running is back. Think that rules out the fueling issues, seals etc. New harness in also.
Have had the head off and replaced gasket but no difference. Next thought...
Ok, have a 110 with TD5. Very noticeable vibration, could be misfire, could be something else. It is there on start up and throughout the rev range, on idling or under load. Was recently in for MOT so asked indy for opinion, they reckoned it was crankshaft damper. However, have removed...
Symptons were rough running over entire range when not in gear and the same when on road test. Still plenty acceleration right up to legal limit. At first I thought it was oil on harness, some oil at red plug but cleaned and difference. Changed out injector harness, again no difference. Indy...
While in for mot, (usual stuff, holes in chassis, rear brake discs corroded, etc) now passed, I asked my indy for thoughts on rough running. Pulls well all gears, happy up to 70 or so, but still rough. Turns out the crankshaft damper has let go. Surprised for all my years on lz I have not heard...
Thanks for that BB , still finding my way around. A few rough edges, (probably me!) But do appreciate the work that must have gone into moving platforms! Can delete crapatalk now.....
Ok, background to this problem. Replaced front O/S disc, badly scored. As ever to get this off, had to remove brake calipers. Of course the bolts were rounded and had to hammer on an undersized socket to get them out. In order to do this had to undo top swivel pin bracket to get caliper out of...
+1 with SF. The fact the feeds were missing and magically re-appeared when jiggling the wiring in the ecu area seems a more likely reason for the sudden failure. Perhaps there was a second fault in the ecu or perhaps the application of extraneous signals from external sources in an attempt to...
Headlamp flash and headlight main/dip are fed from 2 different sources. Have you checked the headlight relay is operating when the headlight switch is turned on? (In the fuse box in front of gear lever) also the dim/dip relay in the same area.
Landrover ownership often involves getting covered in oil and/or diesel! If this is a problem, rubber gloves/ protective clothing can be worn!
I only suggest you explore the fueling issue as it happened to me exactly as you describe. Turned out to be the fuel pump which does have a couple of...
