    Anyone put a 300tdi in a 6 cylinder?

Hi, In about a week the Weslake 6 will be taken out of my LR and I'll be looking to sell and a quick collection for Hebden Bridge West Yorkshire as it will be in the way of the chap doing the engine swap. There some vids of it below. The engine has a small crack in the inlet manifold which is...

    Anyone put a 300tdi in a 6 cylinder?

Hi. My project 109 S2 (@sho161g) is likely to be getting a 300tdi. I bought it with a Rover P5 Weslake 6 cylinder fitted but as I want to use the LR for my new stop start commute I would never be able to afford the fuel. I gather it will need a bellhousing change or gearbox change. Also will...

Series 3 Best way to clean out the cooling system

I have used dishwasher tabs followed by diluted citric acid powder ( as used by Merc dealers). Did an ok job but my 6 cylinder block probably needs another go as didn't have a fan or alternator fitted to run for a long time.

Series 2 Engine breather on the Weslake head - how?

Hi Col, I have no idea but hope my electrics man will! It had a Perkins diesel in before the PO fitted the Weslake. Currently none of the wiring is connected just fuel pump and a starter switch.

First signs of the dreaded mayo

I had this with my old S1 and scared me when I first saw it. I used it for short runs and this was the cause of a small amount of 'mayo' in the oil filler tube. QUOTE="Colthebrummie, post: 3983677, member: 135159"]Thanks for your reply Saxavordian (interesting name) the water in the rad and...

    Anyone got a 19J in a Series 1?

Hi, As per the title really. My S1 109 has a late 3 bearing 2.25 petrol and wondering about fitting diesel power. Wondered if a 19J was an easier fit than the 200tdi? Cheers Toby

Series 3 Where to fit a vacuum gauge pipe?

Hi, I have a series 3 2.25 petrol in my S1 LWB and am looking at fitting a vacuum gauge. It's running on a Zenith carb. Would the pipe running from the gauge attach to the carb or fit to the manifold via the adapter for the brake vacuum pipe? Haven't bought a gauge yet as looking to nice a...

    Wiring query

Thanks - not sure it has a control box? It's a last of the 3 bearing 2.25's.

    Wiring query

Well the series 3 engine is mounted and the gearbox should soon follow it with a series 2a bellhousing to keep the mechanical clutch. As this will be a series 1 pickup with a series 3 engine what extra wiring will I need when ordering a wiring harness? CheersToby

Anyone can help me with a part?

That's brilliant thanks - will add it to my next parts order I make as the postage is more than the cost!

Anyone can help me with a part?

Hi, I need to source the black inspection cover as shown in this picture - the rectangle on the left hand side with a bolt in all corners. If anyone has one or knows the part number I would be grateful. Thanks Toby

mmmmm - the stud has come out of the hub rather than just the nut

So how do you remove the studs (if I can get the drum off tomorrow as the bloody screws are fixed solid)?

mmmmm - the stud has come out of the hub rather than just the nut

When removing a wheel from my project the whole stud came out rather than the nut coming off. How will I refit a new stud or should i just use the stud/nut combo as it is?

    I'm a coward

I have ordered poly bushes for the rear chassis but wonder if I have been too hasty as these might repair?
