Hola Any pointers how to get the fan off on a Disco? The glorious Haynes manual says i need a special tool - i've fallen foul of seeing that and purchasing some wierd and wonderful tool, when a bent screwdriver would have done just as well... anyway, any pointers would be gratefully...

Oh the saga continues... after the relatively simple task of replacing both the RH and LH oil cooling pipes - which was only hampered by the incredibly tight push fit of the off-side one - taking it for a run... now it seems that due to me having to put a load of effort in to the [not so]...

Its just been pointed out that i'm a fool (in a nice way) Discovery 02 - TD5 Just want to check that i'm about to have all sort of probs - my autobox seems to take a few more seconds to engage when i first start it up - in need of attendtion or just pesamissam? i had to replace the gearbox...

guys bog thanks for the advise - unfortunalty i didn't have a choice so had to risk it... RAC newly purchased :-) what i did do was take the A1 - Parking bays every mile or so, and also i could drive at any speed with the only challenge of ****ing off the sunday evening lorry drivers...

Thats what i thought and was told too... i will admit to the generaly male flaw of not being able to see anything infront of them.... but hell we couldn't find it - the Haynes (yes i should burn it) sort off suggested where it was... but looked and looked... Anyway - all sorted now - happy...

i know - big risk. especially with a 200 mile journey between me and my bed... i've put it back together and just come back from a 10 mile test drive and nothing going on with it... so will take the risk - A roads all the way :-) new part will be put on at the next wekk to make sure though...

WOOP! all sorted - i forget what a great tool a good pair of mole grips can be - then got the last replacement bit in the shop... All done and working - big thanks for the support :-)

Hi one of the unions between the rubber and metal parts of the pipe that runs from the auto gearbox to the cooling unit has seperated - and with a bit of easing has gone back on with no damage. it seems to be pretty secure but i'm not sure of the pressure it'll be under, so if its going to...

Any ideas? I've tired the standard; WD40, heat, cold etc - but now the teeth have gone. having to do it on the floor as all the grearbox fluids been lost for background. Thx Robbo

well - the story is that the pipe went at a set of traffic lights so quite a bit of oil ended up on in mansfield. after replacing the pipes i was just going to top it up. any info would be recieved gratefully thx R

Just checking if i need any special tools to change the hoses on the auto box cooling hoses and any other work i should do - changing the gear boax oil and removing the intercooler. and is it really 9.5 ltrs of transmission fluid to change the oil? Need to know as car currently 200 miles...

You don't know if the part is this do you? Brand new auto gearbox oil cooler pipe (from cooler to transmission) which fits all 2.5BMW TD Range Rover P38 models 1995-2002 This one has the two rubber pipes. Part Number: ESR3921
