Had a look at the sensor and it has been half fixed by the person before so re did the conection and it seems to be working ok now. Thanks for the help.

i have a 4.6v8 range rover and every so often it come up with a fault on the dash saying- gear box overheat.what could it be? and is there a temp sensor? could it be that it is faulty? thanks kev87
