Message Center

hi i have a p38 v8 4.6 1995 i have taken the battery off to fit a new one now i have done that the message center on the dash instead of saying things like door open, window set etc it comes up with handbook and different numbers for the problems. why has it gone like this and how do i get it back to normal?

Hi, yes you will need to re set all the windows and sunroof, 1 at a time, wind the window down then fully up.... Then you should see a message saying.. Window set, repeat on other windows... The sunroof wind fully back, then closed. Then full tilt then closed, look at display for sunroof set message..

hi at is wot it did say but insted if that it said handbook 61 for a door open and handbook some number for window not set do you get wot i am saying plz help

From MEMORY I THINK it shows "handbook XX" if its lost its Language settings..i.e it doesn't know which language to show them in

I think yer gonna need a Testbook Visit to sort it ...

If it's lost it's language settings, and that's what it sounds like to me as well, then you're going to have to get it hooked up to one of the computer systems that can adjust the settings in your on-board computer.

In other words you can't do it yourself, you're going to have to take it to a either a Land Rover dealer or a decent independant specialist.
