hi can anyone help me my battery keps go flat so i must have a drain how can i find out what it is that is draining my battery or is there a common fault that it could be my car is a p38 4.6
many thanks kev

is your becm going to sleep, lock it up, leave it for 15 mins. then look in the window if it has a red light on, on the park button, you becm is being keeped awake. if you park on your drive move it on to the road..

hows your battrey? if you know for sure its good, i would try moving it, just incase its getting woken up. is it parked on a hill of any sort?..

if you cant find the drain try fitting a solar battery charger from maplins only a few quid. I never found what was draining mine but the charger seems to keep it under control

i would seriously consider taking the alarm out if its possible at all. you'd need to butcher the car up to get it out and i'd actually say its prob not possible as its all tied into the becm. You can get the alarm settings changed if you get the car plugged into the diagnostics.

I would first change the battery to a decent new one. These cars are SO fussy with batteries.

This might sound like a daft suggestion, but if the rf antenna wire is off and the battery is good, have you checked that your rear interior reading lights are off? I ask because my recent mysterious battery drain was due to my darling little son switching one on without me knowing about it. At night when the street lights are on it was difficult to spot the reading light was on
