sort of.. but when I put it in drive, it does creep forward, but revving between 1000 and 2000 does nothing, but all of a sudden it kicks in at around 2500 - 3000 revs and then starts moving more..

So are we saying ECU or convertor? P38 Ireland, did you have exactly the same problem then? put it in drive, nothing... rev it, then kicks in and throws up the Gearbox Fault?

And are the V8 ones different from the 2.5? as i'm finding quite a few for the V8 and not many for the 2.5

NGK Partfinder for Cars & Light Commercial Vehicles the one i've got is y902r 2237, but still says on ngk site are for my engine, just old codes

I got a set of 6 of NGK Y-902R 2237 new.. (now replaced by another number) but when changing them the threads are longer and wont go all the way in, is this right? its a 2.5 dt p38 by the way

Just had mine replaced.. not cheap... the seals went and looked like the previous owner tried to seal up with gasket sealer.. temporarly it worked.. then it started to leak on me.. £550 for a recon pump plus £200 i paid to get it fitted! could of got a cheaper 2nd hand one, but rather get...

Got a p38 dt and doing a plug change and leak off pipe change at the same time, whats the diameter of the pipe so i can just buy a reel? or is there somewhere online that does them?

I've not touched anything else and there was no whine before.. And it whines in neutral too..

I have a p38 2.5 diesel.. just fitted a new stater motor and now on acceleration it whines..getting higher pitched as the revs get higher... its does get quieter when warm.. but its still there.. What is the problem? dodgy starter? not dis-engaging? Do I have to grease it up?

I'm in essex.. theres a couple on ebay, £30, and one for £55 that looks clean..

In need of a starter motor for a 1996 2.5 diesel p38.. i know ebay is a good start, but how do i know these are decent... anyone got any new ones laying around they wanna sell cheap?

yeah i'm looking now.. cheapest is about £65 inc postage.. and is it just a matter of getting under the car, 3 bolts and change wires over? obviously undo negative lead before i start...?

Ok, I need a new starter motor on my Range 2.5 (bmw diesel engine) as the old one just spins a lot when cranking... How much can I find one for? or has anybody got one spare? Is it an easy job to fit? or how much would a garage charge me to fit it? thanks
