I got a set of 6 of NGK Y-902R 2237 new.. (now replaced by another number)

but when changing them the threads are longer and wont go all the way in, is this right?

its a 2.5 dt p38 by the way

The threads don't have to go all the way in. As long as the nose part is the same length from where the plug seal seats they should be fine. Also put a little copper slip grease on the threads before fitting.
