    series 3 heater problem

Hi, I am not an expert but I did suffer the same affliction and found the inline fuse at the back of the ignition switch, hiding behind the plastic below the steering column. good luck :-)

    2.25 Diesel

Sounds like crock but I return around 40 MPG. Can't for the life of me work out why I get that much from an old diesel lump but I do, really! It also only costs me around 20 quid to fill it. I have two tanks and run on veg oil and a little diesel for starting and stopping. I do a lot of miles in...

Series III deisel and bio fuel

If you want to go bio for the environment (and of course cheaper fuel) Do it as soon as you can! I do and have no problems with the Landy. If anything she runs better, much better! Of course this is just my opinion and what do I know :-)

    stuck!

Slob man, you are a psychic, how did you know that that I searched for steering wheel removal by typing 101 things to do with bananas. What a guy :-D Thanks everyone for your help. I should have searched in all the forums rather than just this one. Great info, I'll get the bugger off. Thanks...

    2 wee hassles

Did I say bake a cake? What I meant to say was a link to a rake. So here it is :-) Spear & Jackson Neverbend Professional Garden Rake Long Handle :: 3840EY :: S/J3840EY :: Spear & Jackson Rakes Man, it is so great to know that there are others out there living with landy niggles. Thanks...

    2 wee hassles

Thanks Charlesy, I replaced the new sender with another one and the temp gauge now works! According to the gauge I am running a little hot. It never goes into the red but sits nearly off the N just before going into the red but still in the normal. I have ordered a new thermostat and...

    2 wee hassles

Cool! Thanks for the advice Slob & Charlesy. Water level is good and the temp gauge is working when I test it like you said Charlesy. What do you think? The first thing I done was replace the sender assuming that this would put it right but alass no joy. Thermostat maybe? Bugger the leak...

    2 wee hassles

Thanks Slob! Maybe I missed the water level. I'll give it a go when I get the bucket back from the garage. Getting the chassis welded up. Most of it is ok but some bugger who really should not weld had been at it inthe past...

    2 wee hassles

Hi people, Save me heed from these two hassles and I’ll bake you a cake. Temp gauge getting power at the new sensor and the gauge it’s self. Faulty gauge? Or can a faulty thermostat cause the temp gauge to have no reading? Since fitting a K&N filter instead of the oil bath I have been...

    New mot?

Hi All! Just thought I would share my experience to date with a 1974 series 111 diesel. I paid probably a little to much for it but living on the Isle of Skye and not having the choice of landys available down south and a new mot I thought I’d go for it. Mot not worth ****! I am getting on...

    K&N Filter

Hi, Any ideas? Since fitting a K&N filter to my series 3 diesel I noticed that there is oil escaping from the rocker cover/engine top cover. I left the breather hose in it's original place. should I connect it to the new air filter? I did notice that there is the option for this but I did...

    diff replacement

Thanks Codbasher! I fitted the rear diff today but gave up on the front. If only it was possible to pull the half shafts out like the back :( Thanks again.

    diff replacement

Hi All! Quick question for you all. Different people have told me different ways to remove the half shafts a little to get the diff in position so I thought I would clear it up a little. 1974 series 3 Do I have to remove the wheels brake drums etc or can I leave the Landy on its wheels...

I thought I would start again: Trans box?

I jacked up the front and rear of the Landy, marked the tyres put it 4wd and turned them together after taking up the slack. After one complete turn the front wheel mark was nearly one half turn behind the rear! I guess it will be a new (second hand) diffs :-) What can I say! Thanks for...
