i think it could be the steering box because there is oil patch underneath where i park.if the steering box has had it that might be why it drifts on the motorway.will do the checking you sugested.thanks for help.

disco1 1998.i have oil leaking out of the rocker cover.have changed the rubber gasket twice and tightened down the bolts as hard as i can get them.do i need a rubber gasket sealer as well as the gasket or are the bolts working themselves loose on there own making the oil seep out.cant see what...

is it hard to bleed system.

dont know to bleed it.done brakes before but not pump.thanks.

disco 1998.when turning the wheel i can hear a grumbling sound which is worse when it is fully locked. is the pump on its way out if so is it hard to do. also the steering wheel has lots of play in it and it drifts side to side on the motorway not related to pump issue any advice welcome thanks

1998 300tdi.trying to match paint on body work but having trouble finding matching colour.all i can find is something called epsom blue witch is to light.my disco is dark blue.is there a name for this colour like landy blue or disco dark blue.cant find match and doing my nuts on spray tins.maybe...

thanks i ll check that. if one side doesnt work would that stop the other side working if the problem is what you are describing.

300tdi 1998.cant get rear brake lights to work.the one in the rear door is fine but sides dont work.i checked bulbs wiring fuses etc but cant track down problem.if the brake switch was in any way faulty would it light the rear door brake light and not the sides.need help thanks.electrics drive...

i have 1998 300 tdi would like to fit suspension lift kit.is it just a case of bigger springs and shocks or is there other parts to consider.also what heights do these kits come in.thanks.

300tdi 1998.disco sits lower on drivers side when parked on level ground.i think shocks are gone on drivers side and will change both sets as your suposed to.is it as simple as taking out a few bolts and replacing shocks or do i need special tools to hold springs down ?? first time changing...

i have a disco 1 1998 300tdi. i got a strong smell of deisel inside.checked engine and found diesel leaking out of small hole in lift pump. looks like there was a bleed nipple or screw in there.can someone tell what was in the hole and where i could get one from or do i have to buy a new lift pump.

i have disco1998. i have noticed it drifts left or right when driving more so when on the motorway.also alot of free play on steering wheel,not sure if that has anything to do with it.would the tracking being out cause this to happen?any ideas more than welcome. thanks.:confused:
