i am drifting

i have disco1998. i have noticed it drifts left or right when driving more so when on the motorway.also alot of free play on steering wheel,not sure if that has anything to do with it.would the tracking being out cause this to happen?any ideas more than welcome. thanks.

The steering box can be ajusted to take up the play if there's any. Any of the bushes or ball joints could upset the steering if worn so could wrong tyre pressures.
A worn A frame ball joint if worn will give a bit of rear wheel steering as the axle moves but then you will also have a knock.

Could also be swivel pin bearings need adjusting... easy job.
