When I get up to about 60-70mph I get the above type noise occuring. I keep telling myself that it's probably just the grill vibrating with the wind as it is slightly wobbly, but could it be something a little more nasty?

I'm ordering some bits and don't know wether I need brake pads with or without the sensor bit for my 96 300tdi. Does it make a difference if I order them without the sensors? Anyone know where there is a guide to fitting driver door window mechanism jobby? Cheers

S'ok was just thinking about repairing to pass MOT and flog it. Hence the cheapness. Managed to drag the memory of fitting the drivers side track rod last year from my drunken blur of a memory. Pretty damn sure I can remember sitting screwing it in r/h thread. The rust is a bugger...

Are the TD5's any better than the 2/300tdi's? Do they rust as badly as the tdi's? Are they as temperamental? Quicker? What are TD5 common faults, anything different than older models or most of the same and a bit of new stuff to?

Ah, it had an 069 on it when I got it. Was told that the 072 would be bigger and much better. Ordered one of these numax jobbies now anyway so lets see how that goes.

Are leisure batteries ok to use? I would of thought that they are more for slow constant current rather than large heavy bursts of?

Yeah I think the one on it now is a 072 but only something like 550cca.

Looking for a new battery for this 300tdi of mine currently. Best I have found online so far is a 72AH with 660CCA. Is this a decent enough number of CCA or should I be looking for bigger numbers? Oh and also has anyone got some close to biggest possible battery size measurements...

One thing I have learnt is that 200 and 300 tdi's really don't need glowplugs!! So you obviously have other issues!

Right I'm going to put it down to a need of an oil change or a fookered battery! Battery is going to be the first point of call as at the minute it is the easiest! Next ..........I dunno, but I'd be quite happy to spend christmas with a baseball bat in hand within close proximity of my disco...

I don't have a tester, well I did but the kids got to it and now its missing in action :mad: Well just to add, it did the exact same thing last winter when it was cold. And a brand new fully charged battery solved it. There was no issue all the rest of the year right up until it's got cold...

I'm going to have to walk to halfords :puke: for some glow plugs as it's my only option. But I haven't got a clue what to get as their website aint the clearest in its selections. Can anyone tell me from the 3 page list here --> Halfords which ones I need. Can't believe this!
