Just to clarify, Your heaters work in both hot and cold mode (you can feel when they are warm/cold respectively) only they don't blow? Or they blow but change from hot and cold intermittently on their own?

Wow interesting, Im only an amateur welder and only done mild steel but was led to believe welding galved metal was a no no as it it gave off poisonous fumes unless you ground the galv off (source: an older welder bloke I know and my old man).
