Well I spoke to the guy I bought it from and he has agreed to collect it from me on a trailer, take it away and put it right. Then I can collect it in a week or so and see it up on his ramps to inspect the repairs. Can't say fairer than that. I suppose my best bet would be to get underneath...

I have emailed the guy I bought it from, hope I can sort it out. I have found several other smaller holes in the chassis too. What constitutes MOT failure in this respect? I am sure that the outrigger and the big hole that appeared at the rear (both shown in photos) would. How about...

Hi all, quite new on here, bought a defender 90 200tdi last week, so far so good. I am going to get myself a welder for doing repairs, and refurb work on it. I did a little bit of arc welding 20 odd years ago, never really did any mig welding but that seems to be the norm these days...

more than 3, less than 3.5 a little more than I wanted to spend, but compared to the others I saw I reckon its a fair price. 12 months MOT, 5 virtually new tyres. The engine bay is very clean too, the body has a few dinks and some minor corrosion, bit all round I am pleased.

One of the vehicels I might look at is a non turbo, no power steering 90 - does anyone have any thoughts on that? I am guessing it is going to be a very heavy drive, and difficult to manoevure when parking etc? Opinions (sensible) appreciated. Johnny.
