Fixed my central locking! Kerchow!

In my opinion, Radweld's not going to make it any worse, and it may fix the problem. I've used it in the past and it's worked with no problems.

Check the intercooler hoses for splits/leaks maybe? Sedimenter?

+1, thermostat or airlock.

Is it the rubber or the mechanism? If it's the blade, you get what you pay for, get a Bosch one, mine's silent.

What about converting the headlights to HID? Got to be less faff surely?

Got a strange 'grumbling' sound coming from the engine, it was doing it all the time until I found a split in the top intercooler hose. I replaced it (did an EGR removal at the same time) and most of the time it's running quietly, just sometimes (pulling away from standstill usually) it's...

From the Haynes book - 2 bolts on the bulkhead and 2 underneathhtrough the wheelarch. Bet they'll be rusted solid..................

They're present but not working. Found the fuse for them, blown 20amp, replaced that and they're still not working. Don't appear to be blocked. Am I right in thinking that they come on with the windscreen washers or is there a switch I haven't found yet? :doh: 1995 300 tdi btw

Thanks for the helpful replies. It's a 300, going to get the springs & strip it out & give it a good clean etc.

Done a search, this has suggested the spring kits, would appreciate some constructive advice.

Like the title says, opens fine from the outside, very hit or miss from the inside. Am I right in thinking that the wee spring kits on ebay will sort this out?
