    I need a friend...

Yup, I really do, one with a Disco 2 TD5 auto who lives nearby Hertford or in West London. What I'm after is to compare mine with another, I've had a problem with the gearbox getting a bit confused to which gear to be in when pulling away sharpish or going up a hill. Normally it's fine when...

    Replacing windscreen TD5

Morning all, I've a 2002 Disco TD5 ES with rather a lot of stone chips in the windscreen. I've been offered a replacment for a good price but it looks like a big job plus I assume I'll need to purchase new windscreen sealant rubber (if that's what they're called?). To remove and replace, is it a...

    Tailgate speakers ?

Morning all, I'm after a set of new tailgate speakers for my 98 Disco TDI. The ones I have are frayed at the edges and are basically knackered, what I'm after is replacing the actual cones for new ones. I've looked on CPC and there are an array of speakers to choose from, and I can't find any...

    She won't start...again?

By Jeeves I think we've got it. The neagative lead seemed quite loose, tightened it up and so far so good. Thanks!

    She won't start...again?

Seem to be havin' no end of probs with my Auto 2002 TD5 Disco ES. Recently I had the MAF changed due to it being sluggish, then I've changed the loom (under the rocker cover) as I had oil on the plugs going into the ECU as well as experiencing problems with auto gear change going up hills. Took...

My TD5 (auto) verrry slow pulling away

Yup, took out the ecu after spotting oil in the plugs. My wife who'd been using the car all day had said it'd been acting up all day, not starting on several occasions until yesterday evening when it wouldn't start at all. I jump started it and it was fine after that, just hope there's not too...

Whats all this around my pipe..(pic)

Hello, whilst trying to sort out another problem I came across residue coming from the pipe leading to the radiator. What is it most likely to be? Cheers Al

My TD5 (auto) verrry slow pulling away

Right guys, been to a independant Land Rover garage and had the lot checked out by a proper diagnostics machine and the result given was: nothing wrong with either the gearbox or engine. So that puts the XYZ switch theory to bed, this mechanic reckons that it could possibly be a "loom" which is...

My TD5 (auto) verrry slow pulling away

Bit of an update, due to the footwells being wet from leaking heater/ air con pipes it seems that it's corroded the "XYZ switch" causing the gearbox to get it's knickers in twist when I put my foot down. The Haynes manual says it's a fairly easy job to replace but I'll need a "LRT-44-011"...

My TD5 (auto) verrry slow pulling away

He tried to use his diagnostics machine to a plug under the drivers side but it just didn't seem to work, just kept showing "trying to connect". He claims that he's seen this problem before and it is definately this switch as it's not giving the correct signal from the gearstick (auto) to the...

My TD5 (auto) verrry slow pulling away

Just an update...what is now happening is that, yes it is fairly faster since the maf sensor has been replaced but now it judders when I put my foot to the floor. The mechanic still reckons it's the sensor switch to the gearbox making it start in 2nd gear?? Cheers Al

My TD5 (auto) verrry slow pulling away

I believe it was the Maf sensor which was changed not the "flow thingy" as I earlier suggested. Is it a tough job sorting out if there's turbo wastegate problem? Cheers
