Hey everyone; I've got a 300tdi 110, and my temperature and fuel gauge seem to be on and off all the time. First off, the temp. gauge sit's pretty low and not sure if this is normal. with this, it often cuts out, goes to zero and bumps back up. The fuel gauge shows full, then drops down to 3/4...

thanks for the reply; all of those sound like great pointers; how about bushings? are there any i should be really specific about? also, is there any way to tell if the new timing belt system has been installed? checking for head gasket issues? and finally turbo issues? cheers

so, i'm making the jump on going ahead in a 300tdi defender 110 purchase. Now i need to find out which one; so with everyone's help, what should i look for when buying one of these? is there any way to check turbo without stripping it down? it blows black at first startup, but good after that...

yes i do mean the 2.8 tgv. the defender i am looking at has a manual tranny. as for the vent flaps, this is because it has a/c. the dashboard has the vents where the flaps are on defenders without a/c. i've seen this on a # of models now, and is different than some of the new styles. it still...
