    if you buy a range rover go for an auto because the manuals clunk and whine like they have come out of a tractor also check if the auto box gose up al the gears because some hot start mods do cause then to stick in 3rd gear i had that problem and the diesels have the common hot start problem...

    on ebay there is some stuff called steel seal that fixes head gaskets permanently wiv out dismantleing the engine just add it to the water but you have to use a good grade antifreeze with it or go on google then type in steal seal it is gud stuff it cure my range rover and its still running now...

    always check the fluid level with the engine idleing and in neutral else u get a false reading on the dipstick

    the reason i want a bigger engine is that the 2.5 lump thats in my range rover now dosnt seem to tow my twin axle caravan that well it tow spot on from about 40-60mph but you have to rev it hard to get it to pull from a stand still if theres any way i cud get it to pull better from a stand still...

    so it should cut in at about 53mph. mine only cuts in when it feels like it and thn cuts out when it feels like it and even on the flat and with a light throttle opening it still cuts out so dose that mean the torque converter needs replacing iam sorry if i sound dumb but i honestly don't...

    well at 60mph the engine is reving at nearly 3000rpm and when it drops into what i think is top gear the engine revs at about 2500rpm so i am not sure whether it is another gear or not

    hi folks my 2.5 DSE auto changes up the gears but when it drops into top gear it stays in its top gear for so long the will drop back down into 3rd again. i have changed the oil and filter in the gearbox which has made a bit of differance it stays in top gear that bit longer but it will not...

    ok thanks for the help with that. when the engine is on low revs the engine check light comes on until you rev it up then it goes out untill you let the revs die down thn its back on could that be crank sensor or the needle lift sensor aswell?
