    No sound thru head unit

Thread resurrected again, there is a piece of software called Navcoder that the BMW crowd use with a bit of hardware you plug into the ibus. The early L322 stuff is the same as X5. Seems to be a good bit of kit according to the forums. I have similar issues and going to give it a try. Worth a...

    Ibus issue. Can anyone help?

Turning off the OBC+Audio removes the OBC stuff from the screen so that bit is working correctly. I have a similar issue as I can't get radio stations on the display and no sound from this or tape and CD. All the indications are a BM54 problem which I am looking at.

    Ibus issue. Can anyone help?

The following might solve the display problem. If you go back to the main menu screen and go into the SET menu there is an "Audio + OBC" setting on one of the two pages. Set this to "off" and the screen should go back to the radio menu when you select it. As to the sound issue, it's probably the...

    EAS Problems post o-ring change

No but I did replace it about a year ago. Do you think a new one might help?

    EAS Problems post o-ring change

Have replaced the three o rings and now all is well, no drooping corner any more. Also replaced the compressor seal which has made it a bit better but still not as good as it should be. I can just about stop the air flow with my finger so might be investing in another pump in the near future...

    EAS Problems post o-ring change

Oh, in that case it must be leaking from there up the shaft past the damaged seal. I sprayed soapy water on it and it bubbles where the wires come out of the solenoid. When the new seals come I'll do the wet and dry trick before re-installing. Wish i hadn't started this now!!

    EAS Problems post o-ring change

Just been out and had a check. The valve for the drooping corner is leaking. Took it apart and the o-ring on the solenoid shaft has been pinched when I put it back together. I've put it back in again as I need to use the car but ordered some more o-rings. I'll probably replace all the solenoid...

    EAS Problems post o-ring change

Thanks for all the info. I'll go through the things as suggested and report back. I did the valves one by one to make sure I didn't mix things up so confident that's not the problem.

    EAS Problems post o-ring change

OK, spent a couple of hours on Saturday morning replacing the o-rings in my EAS valve block because my compressor was running a lot and this was the last bit to be done on the EAS. I replaced the bags and compressor seals during the summer with new items. Haven't had any problems with the EAS...

DMF worsening - fix or sell?

My 1998 DSE has had the dreaded DMF shake for a while now and its getting worse. It only happens when the gearbox gets warm but definitely happening on shorter journeys now. I guess the DMF gets more and more worn and then completely fails. With the parts alone being £700 plus it doesn't really...

What did you do with your Range Rover today

Repaired drivers side heated front seat again!! Another broken wire. This time swapped over the seat bases so now got a really good drivers seat and the worn down bit doesn't show on the passengers side - bit of a result.

What did you do with your Range Rover today

Collected car from garage following MoT. The "y" shaped exhaust pipe at the back had split and couldn't be welded so new rear exhaust fitted. Everything else was fine so good result again. The exhaust was £150 fitted which I thought was excellent value for a twin box system.

Whats the next job/task/repair to do on your Range Rover??

Last minute checks before MoT on Monday. Not anticipating any problems but you never know.

What did you do with your Range Rover today

Eventually got my rear bumper off, had to attack it with an angle grinder. Surprised to see that the mounting arrangements are replaceable so ordered two new rear mounting brackets and one side mounting bracket. Chassis itself is completely rust free so bit of a result as I thought I'd have to...

Sill and A-pillar replacements - opinions?

I did the sills on a couple of 4 door Classics many years ago and had similar issues with the mid- door pillar. I fabricated a pillar from plate which was very difficult. I'd go for the pre-made pillar unless you're really confident in your abilities and have the right metalwork kit. For the...

    Fuel pump / gauge problem

It'll be the in-tank fuel pump. Pretty common for them to go. I believe the injection pump will draw enough fuel from a full tank but once you get below a certain level it can't cope. Had the same issue on mine and changed the pump. You've got two options, remove the tank from the vehicle and...

Whats the next job/task/repair to do on your Range Rover??

Remove and replace my rusty rear bumper. The driver's side is held on by the mud flap screws as the mounting plate for the nylon block on the bumper has completely rusted away. The bracket on the chassis is fine and the nylon block is still in place. Any one got any good ideas on how to get the...

    Gearbox Overheat Warning

Final update. Re-did the sync as suggested by Datatek and it now starts. I have no idea what started it all off or how the BECM reset itself. I do have the infamous burning smell in the fusebox but no visible signs so it might be that. Bit of a quandary now on whether to keep the RR or not, it's...

    Gearbox Overheat Warning

Further update. Plugged the Nanocom in and checked the BECM settings. Don't know how but it had set itself to "left hand Drive" & "automatic gearbox". I changed the settings back and the fault message has now disappeared. The RR now turns over but won't start. I've tried jump starting it as per...
