That is a superb schematic, when your L322 isn't driving you potty could you do one for the P38? Getting back to your problem, that's really interesting, I've got to agree with you - first of all the top bleed hose to the expansion tank should not be under water ( coolant) otherwise it wont work...

Yep thats how the L322 is - Locks as soon as its plugged in.

Maybe its mixed with De-mineralised water - getting back to the soft water/ 'wetter' water plus your flush ?

Along with Hub nut I've heard the wheel bearings can cause ABS faults if there's play. Our old 4.0 went through N/S Front sensors ( 3 in 2 years) no problem with the hubs, and I never got to the bottom of it.
