    Replacing radiator on 19J

Hi all, I've been looking at replacing the rad on my 90, can anyone recommend a decent place to get one? Also, is there any advantage in replacing it with a more modern unit from a later model?

Have you tried a bread knife? Sounds odd, but I've always found it works quite well!

Wanted Drivers seat for a 90, Kent

As above really, the frame for my drivers seat is completely buggered, and the seat isn't much better itself so looking for a replacement in decent condition in and around Kent. Ideally Grey to match the others. I can collect pretty much whenever.

Ok cool, I'll have a look. Thanks!

    Engine mounts

I'd like to cure the issue if at all possible! I seem to have misplaced my Haynes manual and can't find any diagrams online, can anyone tell me how many engine mount rubbers I need to buy for a 1989 90 with a 19J engine? Are they all the same? I'll have to go have a root around in the garage...

    Engine mounts

I've had issues with my exhaust snapping repeatedly (5 times in the last year). I'm getting fed up of taking it off to repair it so was going to try and replace the engine mounts to see if less vibration would solve it. Before I go ahead and get them, is there anything else I should be checking...

    Making a 19J a bit more usable

Hi all, I know the usual thing is to swap out the older unit for a tdi or something with a bit more poke but I'd ideally like to keep my 90 as standard as possible. With that in mind what would be the cheapest or first things to try to make it a little more usable (improve cruising speed)...

    LT77 Gearbox service

Mine is also a struggle to get into reverse, it's quite hard to find and has quite a lot of resistance before it'll go in. My reverse light switch also doesn't work - in what way does that affect it? Sorry to hijack the thread!

Adding tow points to front bumper

I've been considering making a bumper out of 5mm plate, but I've not got any plate to play with at the moment. For the mean time I'll get some jate rings. I've got a meaty bruise coming through and have certainly learned my lesson. flat - photos would be greatly appreciated!

    Clearing the way.

My favourite kind! But in all seriousness, I've got a chainsaw and wouldn't think twice about chucking it in the back and sorting out a tree in the way (see my other post in the Defender forum!) and I wouldn't want to find myself in trouble for trying to do a good deed.

What kind of license do you need to use a chainsaw?

Adding tow points to front bumper

After the dodgy weather this weekend we've got a tree down across a footpath up at my mum's place. Being the helpful chap I am I volunteered to go cut it up and move it, so loaded up the Landy with various saws and set off through the woods and there I stayed for two hours stuck in a massive...

Battery cut off - any tips?

Cheers for that, certainly good info for those wanting to do it. I went with a cot off for the fuel pump in the end, the other advantage being that they can still crank it but it won't start, making it look like it's just a ****e Land Rover as opposed to intentionally disabled.

Battery cut off - any tips?

It was my initial way to do it, but I wasn't 100% sure the wiring I've done would work and not explode. I have a poor history when it comes to wiring! The other reason is that I won't be using the cut off all the time, which means it's more likely to be left connected than not, as most of the...

Battery cut off - any tips?

When I've got the pump deactivated there is a current going through the relay, yes.

    Filling holes in roof

Ok cool, I'll have a play. I intend on sound-proofing the roof and carpeting over it to make it a little more refined. I'm happy to drill another hole if needed, so I'll try some araldite.

Battery cut off - any tips?

I didn't cut off the battery because I bought the switch and relay, and they wouldn't handle that kind of power. The reason I wanted the switch in particular is because it's only operable with the right key, so even if they spot it it just looks like it locks the panel in place. Of course they...

    Filling holes in roof

Hi all, I've got a number of holes drilled in the roof of my 90, and I'm not entirely sure of how to fill them. I can't weld aluminium, and I'm not sure that would be the best fix anyway. I was thinking of cutting discs out of an old panel and bonding them on, but I'm not sure what to use to...
