    Extra Gauges - well pleased!

I like that set up......I like the fact your 'air conditioning' is still effective. Bit concerned about the heavy smoking 2 x :) 12v outlet looks far nicer! You should be pleased... good job. PS... do the gauges work? ;)

Rear work light, without making holes ???

Take a look next time you are in a big Asda by the motor oil and stuff.... they do magnetic strip/hook and smaller round ones, cheap draper tools to throw in a bag as well..... I have used the strip to do repairs in the dark underneath... quite bright and very cheap. Will have the LED work lamp...

    Rust treatment

Rust..... thats a start, see what develops Seals.....easy enough, shop around, dont buy genuine parts for rubber and dont forget the one under the door. (that can be pop riveted) Wipers........Check the fuse first and invest in a multi meter, it will come in handy (less than a £5)

    Hinges

I gather you are replacing the hinges? You should be able to undo the bolts into the door. I used a 15mm drill to take the heads clean off the seized ones in the bulkhead... you can drill quite deep into the hinge is you are scrapping it. Have you bought your hinges yet? If not I can...

    new landy niggles

however, one this I know isn't right is the top speed. to get up to the top speed - 70mph - downhill, I need to put the pedal to the floor in all gears and then keep it to the floor in 5th to eek out 70, if i lift of slightly it drops to 60, whilst all the time the engine is screaming! My...

Wiper problem is now sending me insane!

Have you thought of biting the bullet and trying to find a mobile auto electrician? I have one who charges by the hour.... I think it may save your sanity and for £30 or so. Cheaper than a shop if thats a comfort. However, it is very possible he wont be able to sort it.... but if he does :)...

These are old disco wheels of mine off a 90... blasted and red leaded. I still have them after failing to sell them for £20 each. Think they may look okay sprayed black.... a silk finish may just do it :) Bit more practical than alloys?

    General Grabber TRs opinions wanted

Last winter I had a 90 and I had new General Grabber TR fitted...these have been standard factory fit by LR in the past. I was very impressed with them faultless in snow, dry and wet good enough. They even got around the 'mud run' at one of the shows when I was laughed at by a marshal who...

    Choosing new speakers... any ideas?

I have no idea about in car speakers but I know the front speakers in my Defender 110 under the dash are pretty crap..... the ones behind the second row of seats are fitted into plywood covered in carpet and one of these does not work. The radio is a JVC, it has a flip top, takes a CD and you...

Door Lock - dismantling door lining

When putting the window winder handle back on make sure you set it with the window closed at the 9 or 10 0'clock position.... just a little thing or it rubs your right knee. One of my minor fook ups I like to share :)

    A-Bar

GT85 from Halfords is good stuff.... try tightening the bolts half a turn and then try and slacken back more than half a turn.... if you get them moving and take your time you have a good chance but do tighten them every other turn or they will snap and add more lube....

    Britpart Windscreeen Seal?

I think its classed as a claim? So if you change insurance next time you may have to mention it... may not have any effect on your quote but if you can do it yourself for the same price... I would. I agree 100% wif Mr Shifty... anyway, Britpart rubbers are fine and if you live within striking...

    MASSIVE insurance saving

Its okay if your 21 and your Landy is more than 15yrs old... mine is 14 and I couldn't get my son aged 21 on for less than £1200. I ended up paying £147 with sureterm just for me. Shame for my lad
