I have no idea about in car speakers but I know the front speakers in my Defender 110 under the dash are pretty crap..... the ones behind the second row of seats are fitted into plywood covered in carpet and one of these does not work.

The radio is a JVC, it has a flip top, takes a CD and you can adjust bass and fade etc.

The wiring is basic speaker wire with 2 lengths that appear to be soldered or clipped onto the speakers at the back.

I dont want to spend a fortune, just want to hear Radio 2 .....

Any incar entertainment experts about who could advise on new speakers (same size) and reasonable quality for under £50??? I looked at some on ebay but didn't know if these new speakers take 2 wires like my primative set up.

Hope attached pics may help...... is this radio any good and able to cope with reasonable speakers? Many thanks folks :)

the stereo's ok, just take your car down to the audio/stereo place at the side of what was the seven stars pub near miry lane. they used to have cheap speakers knocking about when they did the big conversion jobs on the punto brigades cars:D

got a set of kenwood replacement speakers in the dash of my 110, sound quality is pretty good although lacking when it comes to bass but i think that will be the problem for most speakers of that size.

My plan is to fit a couple more speakers into the rear to try and help this. got a set of 2 way speakers with tweeters and crossovers that have been sitting in my garage for the best part of a year now.
